(Q) Whats the latest release?
(A) xSnes9x V1.42 WIP Release
(Q) Exactly which Snes emulator is this a port from?
(A) Snes9X 1.42 based from the Windows sources
(Q) The sound doesnt even sound like a proper Snes machine in lots of games. What's the problem?
(A) Snes9x sound routines have some issues. Remember this is a port of existing emulator source. Try playing around with the 'AltSampleDecode' switch along with some of the other sound flags in the .ini file. Future xSnes9x releases will contain a re-written sound engine.
(Q) Can you save your games?
(A) Yes
(Q) Is HDTV modes supported?
(A) Yes
(Q) Does xSnes9x have .zip file support?
(A) Yes
(Q) Does xSnes9x have savestate support?
(A) Yes
(Q) Does xSnes9x have IPS support?
(A) Yes
(Q) Does xSnes9x have Action Replay/Game Genie support?
(A) Yes
(Q) What about network games?
(A) No
(Q) Can I use RAR files instead?
(A) No.
(Q) Your default gamepad config sucks! Can I configure my own?
(A) Yes
(Q) How does I build an iso image of xSnes9x?
(A) Read tutorials on Xbox-Scene
(Q) My iso only runs the first 50 or so roms even though I burned it with 800!
(A) Your cd media and/or the way you created your .iso is bad.
(Q) Can I insert a new cd in the tray and have xSnes9x update my romlist?
(A) Yes. But you need to be aware of some things. First you need a bios capable of no eject on reset. Second your cd media must contain its roms in the root folder.
(Q) When I press eject my xbox reboots, Why?
(A) Your bios doesn't support no eject on reset.
(Q) When I load a rom I get a black screen. Why?
(A) Update to latest xSnes9x version
(Q) Can i Use a mixture of zip files and normal roms in my roms directory?
(A) Yes
(Q) Can i change the Rom directory and call it something else?
(A) Yes. edit your config.ini file
(Q) I'm a coder, will you release the source?
(A) Yes, at some point.
(Q) Why did you port xSnes9x for?
(A) To give back to the Xbox homebrew scene.
(Q) Why doesn't Super Mario Kart and other DSP1 games work for me?
(A) Mario Kart and selected other DSP1 games should run as of Beta 3.
(Q) Why doesn't <insert game here> work?
(A) Refer to the original Snes9x texts for compat issues. Most, if not all games that work on Snes9x Win should run fine. There are some games which don't run because they have custom chips which havent been emulated yet due to lack of documentation on those custom chips. Finally make sure you don't have a bad dump of the particular rom. There are lots of bad dumps going around.
(Q) Does Starfox2 Beta 1.1 work?
(A) Yes. It's fully playable under xSnes9x V1.0
(Q) How do I report a bug?
(A) Email me at lantus@lantus-x.com, or post a message on this board.
(Q) When is the next release due?
(A) Whenever.
(Q) StarOcean and Street Fighter Alpha 2 have blurry graphics. Why?
(A) Upgrade to the lastest xSnes9x version
(Q) I have a black screen. How do I fix it?
(A) Upgrade to the lastest xSnes9x version, Load a rom, go into the game menu (press right thumb) and select Reset Screen Defaults.
(Q) What happened to xsnes9x.ini?
(A) everything is saved to the E:\tdata\0fffdaed now. You shouldn't need to worry about editing anything except for your rompath (in rompath.ini) as its all menu driven and saved on shutdown.
(Q) What SPC7110 roms are supported?
(A) Far East of Eden Zero, Momotaro Dentetsu Happy and Super Power League 4.
(Q) How do I get these to work? They don't seem to work at all?
(A) For FEoEZ you need the graphics pack from www.dejap.com. Download it and follow the instructions with it. Once you have completed, copy your graphics pack files into FreezeFile\FEOEZSP7.
(Q) xSnes9x freezes for me. What's going on?
(A) Upgrade to the lastest xSnes9x version.
(Q) Whats this new menu people are talking about?
(A) Press Start to invoke the new xSnes9x menu, This is where you will configure and perform most if not all your tasks from now on.
(Q) the menu music sucks, how do I turn it off?
(A) Menu->Sound Options->Music set to No
(Q) Problems: xSnes9x no longer loads, I get a black screen,
xSnes9x says "No skin found" even though I know the
skins are there, <insert game here> doesn't load
any more, <insert your problem here>.
(A) Try to remove the xsnes9x.ini from E:\TDATA\0fffdaed.
If you're having problems with a specific game, you should
try to remove all the files with that rom's name in E:\TDATA\0fffdaed.
Just remember to backup the files or something if
they are precious to you.
(Q) Does xSnes9x have mouse support?
(A) Yes.
(Q) Does xSnes9x have lightgun support?
(A) Yes.

Hmmm, I have v1.04 working fine, but I have a problem, when I press START all I get is a greyed out menu which I can't get out of, this is probably something I've missed but I can't find any way to get out of it, any ideas? :)

i donīt know if itīs a bug or my stupidness but my xnesx 1.04 crashed while loading it. it was working perfect before!
after some time of trial and error problemsolving i deleted the "tdata" folder on E: and reinstalled the emulator and it worked perfect again!
can anybody explain this?? |

hey, just wanted to send out a big thanks for this great Emu, that brings back all those wonderful nostalgic memories, and to throw my two cents in on the Xsnes9X.ini file thing.
i deleted it from E:\TDATA\0fffdaed when Xsnes9X up and stopped working, and I'm back in bussiness.

Help, I'm using 1.39 beta 4. Can't load or save. Left and right analogue are just resetting the rom/emu. In fact, I can't get ANY emulator menu to appear? What gives?

| When I try to copy my snes emulator + roms to the xbox harddrive (from a CD-RW as my xbox dvd drive dosent read CD-Rs) i get a disc error, saying i have insufficient space on ther harddrive when i have plenty. I cant use FTP either. Any help? Cheers |

| i no this questions a little off key but im trying to figure out how to mod my xbox by only hooking up a crossover cable to my pcs ethernet port. im hoping someone can tell me if this is possible or not and if it is possible could u tell me what i need to download, and also i am wondering if u can get windows xp on ur xbox if u can tell me how to do that to |
