Snes9xGC (Gamecube) Source Released |
Unfortunatly due to RL commitments, I am unable to work on Snes9xGC (or any of my Xbox projects), so therefore I have released the source-code so someone hopefully can take over the project.
Some notes about the source:
- Uses libogc. Moving the codebase to GClib wouldnt be too hard. - Gamepads are supported. - Memcard routines are implemented but untested. - Sound is implemented but needs work. - currently a rom must be compiled into the DOL. - SuperFX roms are broken, I'm not sure why

Yep, you heard right - I'm porting Snes9x to the Gamecube. Initial results are looking promising.
For now some screenshots (click to enlarge) - big thanks to Masken for his wonderful Whinecube gamecube emulator.

General Snes Emulation Update: Seta 010 |
Once again the usual suspects of Snes9x/ZSnes coders have managed to emulate another previously non-working custom chip. This time its the Seta 010 as found in F1Roc2.
Thanks to Nach for these screenshots:

update! |
xSnes9x update! You will be pleased to hear that last week ive sent out beta's to my testers who are currently in the process of testing/breaking/reporting any issues they find.
we are not far off a release folks!
Some folks have been asking me weather the new S-DD1 "on the fly decompression" will be in this build. The answer is no . The Snes9x team do not wish for this to be released until more testing is done, most likely in their 1.42 release and i must respect their wishes.
However, the new xSnes9x will definetly be the last release that requires graphics packs.
And for those interested : Matthew Kendora has posted an interesting journal update about whats coming in future Snes9x builds. You can read his thoughts at http://www.snes9x.com/journal.asp
